| Artistic culture in the Roman and Greek societies: themes, historical approaches and new interpretive methods | ||||||||
| credits ex270 | 6 | |||||||
| LT | ||||||||
| description ex270 | The course is conceived as an introduction to the artistic culture that is developed within the Greek poleis from the archaic age, up to the diffusion in territories very distant from continental Greece with the formation of the Hellenistic kingdoms; subsequently it will be considered the moment in which in Rome - as one of the so many Hellenistic centers- the theme of the artistic creation acquires autonomous characters and become polymorphous inside the empire. Given the chronological ampleness within which it stirs us, it will be tried to proceed for great thematic categories (sculpture, painting, ceramic decoration, wall decoration, portraits, historical relief etc.), with excursions in the preceding historical interpretations and a presentation of the debate on new interpretive methods. | |||||||
