description ex270	The course aims at presenting the position of Augustine of Ippo regarding monastic life. We will analyse the link between handcraft and prayer, as it emerges from the De opere monachorum. We will also analyse the problematic of the Augustinian monastic Rule, examining the text in the Italian translation and inserting it in the context of the ascetic written elaborated by Augustine.
